Cognitive acquirements about crossing culture and European citizenship

Developing the necessary habits for living together in a multicultural society:
Refusing discrimination ,intolerance, acknowledging and rejecting prejudices
Promoting the European dimension of education.

The activities organised in the project meetings have provided a motivating, stimulating and open environment for realizing the settled objectives.
During the activities taking place in the classroom with the students of the Romanian project team and their French peers ,there were organised presentations of the two highschools , the two towns , regions and the two countries: Romania and France. There were organised interactive communication activities in English, as the language of the project , and also in French and Romanian as mother tongue languages of the project partners.
Contests were organised both in Romania and France.
In Romania:
The contest “ Let’s discover our countries” , “ Connaissons nos pays” , has revised on/ input knowledge about monuments, museums, representative institutions of the two countries, France and Romania ,about the history and geography of both two countries.
The contest “ Valeurs Europeennes” represented the activity between mixed teams, French and Romanian students, boys and girls who competed in designing some posters to illustrate concepts such as: Freedom, Peace, Tolerance, Friendship, Communication. The posters were examined by a jury consisting of The 8th grade students of some schools in Turda.
In France:
Attending The “ Artec Festival” ( Arts et technologies), brought the mixed French- Romanian team the fair -play prise offered for building spaghetti bridges.
The traditional Sports game “ la petanque” brought both the Romanian students and teachers the degree “ Ambasadors of the Sports game “ la petanque” in Romania”.
Trips were organised both in France and in Romania:
In France were visited: The Amboise Castle, the Clos Luce Castle from Amboise, representative sightseeing from Strasbourg, Paris, Le Main, Monte Carlo.
In Romania: Sibiu- European Capital of Culture, The Astra Museum( Sibiu), The Bran Castle, The Peles Castle, The Salt Mines of Turda, Cluj-Napoca City.
Travelling in the European space represented an opportunity of visiting a lot of archaeological sites and places , Historical and Architectural monuments, museums and culture institutions , and also getting acquainted with what the essence of the European civilisation is.
Hosting the students of the project at the families’ houses , both at the project reunions in France and in Romania represented the free access to the spirit and mentality of the partner country and, in general to what the French way of family life meant and in the segment of age corresponding to that of the teenager’s.
The communication in the project is periodically realised through
e-mails, telephone calls and fax. Entering the web pages of the partner institutions offers the opportunity of getting informed about the activities which have taken place or about the major events taking place.
The project presentation was realised by meetings with the local communities, with the representatives of local administrations, with the representations of the educational authorities in the area and in the presence of mass-media representatives. The local televisions, the local radio stations and the press sustained the spreading of the news about this project.
The results gained in the project up to this moment, materialised in the obvious level of realising the settled objectives, the impact on this school students, on teachers, on the institution and community in general, encourage an active involvement sustained by the belief in a future success.
The project team salutes the new started school-year 2007-2008 from the perspective of a future cooperation in this project, wishing success and welcome in the team to the new teachers and students.
